Just Pictures

Those delicious hands!
He didn't choose the thug life, the thug life chose him
Daddy hasn't forgiven me for this one! drawn eyebrows while he was at work.. we had a fun photoshoot

My little wiggle worm scooting from how he started (perpendicular from that) to next to my bed nest... I got out to take a picture but made sure he was safe

Tuckered out from jumping he put his head down for a nap

Propped/Standing in his big boy outfit

Four (!) Months!

Baby A Four Month!

Weight: 14.5 lbs
Length: 25.5 inches

Likes: Bohemian Rhapsody (the first half) being sung by mommy, his hands, the johnny jumper, the bumbo, trying to sit up, having raspberries blown on his tummy, raising his hands like he has a question, his auntie Martha at work, guzzling his meals, drooling, splashing in the tub, the swing, his mobile, daddy reading to him and pictures in books

Dislikes: Getting his diaper changed half the time, being set down when he’s tired, too much fun, finishing all the milk I have to offer before he thinks he’s done, having his mouth patted all the time for drool, getting aquaphor in his neck rolls, being taken away from mommy after a bath, not getting rescued from a nap fast enough.

Eye Color: Dark blue with a grey/blue center (a little more grey but looks like they’re staying!)

Hair Color: Blonde is growing in, but brown at the nape of his neck still.

New Skills: Looks toward noises, he can almost roll from back to tummy… he arches his head suuuuper far back and turns. Turning 180 degrees like a clock hand when he’s lying down. Migrating toward warmth inchworm-style when he’s in bed with me (I wake up and he’s squished next to me when he started two feet away), making loud dinosaur like sounds, complaining, knowing that the hand that re-binkies him at nap time is attached to mommy and he will look.. trying to find me, grabbing my hair and then holding onto my arm when I hold him so he is more stable.

My Favorite Thing: He is so close to laughing, he makes a really loud shriek and smiles, but no giggles yet! When he is sleepy he lets me cuddle him baby style… his head on my shoulder and holding him… otherwise he does NOT want to be a baby and will try and sit up, lean back, see everything. When he fusses and my picking him up and holding him instantly makes it better. Like after shots, daddy held him down :( and then after he was handed to me and he took deep breaths, calmed down, and held on.

Things I Call Him: Booger, Boogerbear, Suger Bees, Boogs, Angel, Angel baby, Mybigboy, , Beautifulboy

My First (Second) Mothers Day

This is my first mother’s day with baby A, last year it was the hardest day of the year. It feel within a day or two of Max’s estimated due date. So I was doubly reminded I was not a mother. Though technically Baby A existed last year for mother's day... I just didn't know it. This year it was bliss. My baby was a charmer, and my hubby was a wonderful treat. I woke up Sunday morning to the smell of bacon, which is the best smell to wake up to ever, and to my hubs putting my bubbly happy little man next to me in bed to say good morning. I cuddled and fed Baby A while hubs finished making French toast and bacon then I brought the baby with me to the kitchen and saw that ‘Baby A’ had written me a happy mother’s day card and gotten me a candle that I had been wanting. We spent a leisurely hour eating and hanging out as a family before getting ready for church. Baby A wore an “I love mommy” outfit and I got to shower with the door closed and without rushing.

Church had all the moms stand up at the end and each mom was given a rose from ‘their kids’ to recognize how awesome we are… I know right?! My little man promptly grabbed a hold of my rose and tried to stick it in his mouth. Then wouldn’t let it go, and when I pried it out of his little clenched fists he verbally protested. Fine, you can keep it. I love you too.

We drove home and cuddled the baby, watched the Amazing Race, and ate a delish salad with strawberries and goat cheese. That’s how we spent the rest of the day. Together on the chair watching TV and hanging out with the baby. Though the baby didn’t watch TV, he’s not allowed. Everything else has been uneventful… Baby A is now 16 weeks old! Time FLIES

Time Goes So Fast!

There is nothing that has happened in the past two weeks and then there is so much that has happened in the last two weeks. Time goes so fast with a baby. It feels like yesterday I was carrying him home from the hospital. Though I was talking to hubs last night about that and I wouldn’t trade a million dollars for the end of pregnancy and first week of Baby As life. Those were not my finest moments. Surprisingly I really didn’t like being pregnant and am in NO hurry to repeat the experience. I will probably always wonder if it was because of Max, that my 9 months felt like a deployment into a war zone. I never relaxed. Mentally or physically. Which made the end couple of months no bueno… I was tired, sore, huge, and paranoid. Maybe with baby #2 (Pregnancy #3) I will relax because I have successfully carried a baby to term. Who knows? I’ll find out in a year or two.  Then there was the first week of babyhood. Everything changed… everything. It was hard! And tiring. I told hubby last night I missed my newborn snuggler and I wanted another one. But only if I could skip the pregnancy and the first week. I want someone to deliver to us a two week old baby.

Don’t misunderstand.. I love my baby with every fiber of my being. And I wouldn’t trade him for all the tea in china. I also wouldn’t change my experiences because as hard as they were they brought me my baby. I just wanted to be honest and be the 2% of women who do not enjoy pregnancy.
On to happenings. Baby A is getting so big! He’s a heavy little chunker and the darling of the office where I work. I am thankful everyday that I get to bring him with me to work and he gets loved on and passed around. He sits in the bouncer or bumpo while I work and if no one else claims him. One lady I work with (and one of my friends) has a sixth sense about when he arrives and the second we are through the door she swoops down and snuggles him for a few minutes.

My baby is also the king of drooling. He goes through 2-3 bibs a day and still soaks his clothes. Even with the plastic backed bibs. He’s not teething.. I keep checking. No, it’s just that he likes spit bubbles.

We facetime my mom, his Mimi, every morning so they can talk and neither of them can get enough of the other. Baby A talks more to Mimi than he does to anyone else. The second her face appears he starts babbling his latest ‘story’ to her willing ears.  He doesn’t even talk to me as much as he talks to her. She loves it and eats it up.

We have somewhat of a schedule down for each day and its working pretty well. Our typical day looks like this

Anytime between 9:00-10:00am we wake up together and he talks to me before I feed him.
10:30ish We facetime Mimi
11:00 He takes a nap and I shower and blog etc
12:00 I feed him and we head into work
12:30-2:00 I work and he gets passed around, sits in the bumpo, or naps in the bouncer
2:00-3:00 Lunch for me
3:00 His lunch
3:30-4:00 We finish up whatever in the office
4:00 I try and put him down in his crib for a nap with varying success.
4:45-5:00 I pick him back up because hes done in the crib
5:00-6:00 We rock or sit and he falls back asleep and I read of play on my phone
6:00 He eats dinner and Hubs comes home
6:30-7:30 They hang out then its bedtime (or bath and bedtime) for the Booger
9:00 I wake him up for a dreamfeed and then put him down
9:30 I get in bed and read until 10/10:30
Anytime around 2:00am he wakes up and wants the binky back
Anytime 3:30-6:00 I feed him
7:00 He gets moved into bed with my by Hubby when he gets up
Then we start over.

Some days we run errands, or on Fridays we go to Mom’s playgroup in the park..but generally that’s what our day looks like.
