Ramblings

Rice cereal success!

Veggie Tales Pandora is blasting in our house for the baby… “baby”. While I write, sip coffee, and let my hair dry in its towel turban. We have worked out a system for the mornings. I shower while he sits in the bathroom doorway in the bumpo. I have the fabric shower curtain folded up so he can see me through just the plastic layer and it works for about 10 minutes. Which is all I need anyway. Mornings with Baby A are my absolute favorite. He is his absolute happiest in the mornings, full of noise and smiles. This morning was a little abnormal. Usually he gets moved into the big bed around 7, and we sleep till 10ish, but today hubs had a test so we made him breakfast at 8, send him off and then went back to bed until 1020. (I keep looking back to check on him as he plays on the play mat and he keeps rolling to his tummy). He’s been eating more lately. Maybe not more.. but longer. He was down to 3-5 min a side every feeding (three hour increments during the day) and now he’s moved to 10ish each side. I wonder what brought about the change, but I absolutely love that time together so I won’t look too closely. Maybe my chunker is growing. He’s still only eats once at night around 4, and we have it down to me being up a grand total of 20 min, including diaper, food, burp, and re bed.

My aunt flew into town last night for her son’s graduation and so we went over last night to visit and she met the baby and he was our centerpiece for dinner. He loved it, the little ham. Talking and squeaking and wiggling while everyone looked on. I’m going to start having to bring the bumpo everywhere it’s great to have hands free and him sitting with us. Maybe even restaurants?

YAYYYY HUBS PASSED HIS TESTS! He just called with the good news !!!

I feel like nothing is really new, because we have found a routine and stick with it for the most part. BabyA is changing everyday but it’s a slow process. I can’t wait until he laughs, or reaches for things, or sits up. Those are all next. And according to other babies his age he is behind. But they are girls. So he is perfect. He is a serious little man so laughing might take a while longer anyway. I had a dream he reached for me and it was the greatest dream feeling ever. Aggh!

Ali just wrote a novel
on Baby Led Weaning that’s length bugged my eyes out of my head (in a good way) that I will have to re read when I have time. I like the method a lot. So I will keep it in mind. We did feed BabyA a teaspoon or rice cereal to see what he would do and it was really funny. He liked having a spoon headed toward him and not toward me though. We did it more for him to get used to having something in his mouth to swallow that’s not mommy or hands. I can’t wait to hand him chunks of things though. We are going to try and wait (haha try) until he is 6month at the end of July.
