What a weekend! We had a GREAT weekend… it started out with
bike riding and lunch by the beach and ended with a spontaneous trip to visit
family! We woke up Saturday morning after sleeping in to our hearts content and
then got dressed, put my bike in the car, and drove over the bridge to the best
beach in town. My bike needed a tune up so we took it to the store I bought it
from and asked if we could drop it off after riding around, then rented a bike
for hubs and we were in business. We biked through the town and neighborhoods
for a hour or so and then I was over this whole “riding for fun” thing and we
dropped off both bikes and walked to a little outdoor seating café and split an
egg scramble for brunch. Delicious! The weather was even cooperative and it was
warm and sunny all day. We have finally left june/july gloom behind. After our
most glorious expedition into the outside world we returned home and called his
parents to chat about nothing. They informed us they were at a party only an
hour and a half from us (instead of the usual 4 hours) and that we should come
up. After regretfully denying we hung up and then thought about and talked
through actually going, sour of the moment. The pros outweighed the cons and
after dinner we packed an over night bag and drove up to stay with them for the
night in their hotel. After seeing them I feel so blessed to have amazing
inlaws that I love to spend time with. We loved seeing them and staying up half
the night watching Bridesmaids. Then spending all Sunday with them going
shopping and eating lunch. I found a dress and shoes for my friend wedding on Saturday
in about 20 minutes while shopping and got both for 16$. I love sales! The
hardest part of the weekend was keeping our secret. “What.. you mean you didn’t
tell them!?” Yup, mum’s still the word. A. It was Lisa’s due date, and B. we
have it all planned out for the 31st. I wore a pleated poofy dress
that hid the bump and life was good. Leaving was sad. I wanted to stay and
secretly move in with them, but their house is full and we had church class to
make it back for. I took a much needed relaxing bath Sunday night, and passed
out at 10. I woke up today and hit the mall to buy my friend’s wedding present,
got some bath balls from LUSH (hiiiiighly recommend!!!) and 3 maternity tops! Agh.
Its starting again. I just put a whole load in the washer so I can wear them.
In other news, my sister-in-laws due date was Saturday and
this baby is currently still cooking. And she thought he’d be on time. Ahahhahaa.
